Purpose The Membership Committee is responsible for responding to inquiries about membership from prospective members, communicating with prospective and new members, coordinating membership applications, preparing the directory and generally coordinating any aspect of recruiting, processing and welcoming new members into the organization.
Committee Mission Our mission as a committee is to maintain current membership data and provide a directory to promote networking and business development among members, assist KC CREW in expanding its membership base, to facilitate new member application processing, provide orientation to new members and assist in integrating them into an active role in KC CREW, coordinate with CREW Network on membership data for current and new members, renewals and invoicing, and to manage the membership budget.
Main Tasks In furtherance of the stated goals and mission of CREW, the Membership Committee seeks to enhance the membership experience by performance of the following tasks:
Follow up with each guest to the monthly luncheon.
Respond to inquiries from potential new members and coordinating new member applications.
Follow up with potential new members to facilitate the application process.
Take each new member to a welcome lunch to orientate them regarding the various committees and member participation opportunities.
Facilitate distribution of directory and welcome information to each new member.
Creation and distribution of chapter’s directory annually (distribution is in the Spring) and creation and distribution of updates to the directory annually (distribution of updates is in the Fall).
Assist all members and Board of Directors with recruiting new members.
Keep directory database updated.
Make recommendations to the board as requested regarding any membership issues as they arise.

Job Description
Purpose The Communications Committee is responsible for researching and implementing creative, effective ways of connecting internally with KC CREW members, and externally between KC CREW and the commercial real estate industry regarding the goals of the CREW Kansas City Chapter, committee goals, and topics of interest. This is accomplished through publishing a quarterly newsletter, capitalizing on public relations opportunities, ensuring the website is current, and crafting an annual marketing campaign.
Committee Mission Our mission as a committee is to support the overall Kansas City CREW Chapter mission: We will improve and enhance communication to, by & among our members, our prospective members, our sponsors, and our National Network.
Main Tasks In furtherance of the stated goals and mission of CREW, the Communications Committee seeks to enhance the membership experience by informing current & potential KC CREW members via:
Creation and distribution of chapter’s quarterly electronic newsletter with reporting duties and assemblage of content, including but not limited to, updating of sponsorship information, reports of monthly events in written articles, and procurement of photographs as assigned by the Committee Chair.
Coordination of chapter Web Site content, ensuring updates as needed and regular evaluation on ways to increase traffic to the Web Site.
Coordination with National CREW chapter liason of chapter e-blast content and timing.
Promote networking among members
Take advantage of PR opportunities, such as media announcements, participation in special events (i.e., SIOR Day, Golf Tournament, Community Service Events, etc.), and cross promotion with other local real estate organizations.

Purpose KC CREW’s Community Services Committee strives to involve members of KC CREW in charitable projects and organizations benefiting the metropolitan Kansas City area. In 2004, KC CREW adopted the Women’s Employment Network (WEN) as its charitable partner. The Community Services Committee, often together with other KC CREW committees, plans and holds events to benefit WEN, an organization which provides comprehensive employment preparation and career transition programs, workshops and services to women throughout the Kansas City area. Past events have included three successful KC CREW golf tournaments, the pre and post golf events, a wine tasting and cooking demonstration, clothing drives and participation in the Heart-to-Heart Luncheon.In addition, the Community Services Committee has sponsored a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure team and has recruited volunteers to work on several Habitat for Humanity houses.
Committee Mission KC CREW encourages its members to give back to the community, and the Community Services Committee is charged with identifying and implementing opportunities for members to get involved.

Purpose The Programs Committee is responsible for organizing monthly lunch programs that will appeal to a broad audience of various professional disciplines in the commercial real estate field, with a speaker that is well known in the area. In addition to monthly lunch programs the committee organizes happy hour events that provide additional networking opportunities.
Committee Mission Our mission as a committee is to plan quality lunch programs and happy hour events which provide an opportunity for guest speakers to present informative and relevant topics/ projects related to current real estate market on local and national level while fostering networking opportunities.
Main Tasks
The committee discusses and decides on the monthly luncheon topics and happy hour locations during committee meetings.In preparation for these events the committee is responsible for the following tasks:
Speaker:A committee member will be assigned to each month and will be responsible for contacting the speaker to: confirm participation, answer questions the speaker may have about lunch details and KC CREW, forward details about the program to committee members, meet the speak the day of the event, introduce the speaker to CREW members, and introduce speaker before program if needed.
Facilities and Food:OneCommittee member will be assigned as the liaison between the committee and venue. This responsibility includes confirming the following with the venue: head count numbers, menu selection, special requests, room arrangements and serving issues.
Registration Desk:One committee member is assigned responsibility for the registration desk. Responsibilities include: Coordinating with CREW Network to obtain nametags before events, ensure the table is covered by at least two KC CREW members for check-in, making sure guests and members have paid for the event, passing out nametags, and recording information as needed.
Happy Hour:Committee members responsible for Happy Hour events will communicate with the event contacts/location and organize setup of event. Happy Hour locations will be discussed during committee meetings.
Lunch Discussion Series: The quarterly lunch discussion series provides an educational opportunity for members to learn more about a specific topic. While topics for our monthly lunches are designed to be of interest to a broad audience, the topics for our lunch discussion series are more specific and detailed.This is a member’s only opportunity to speak on a topic and that member hosts the lunch.
Communicating:In addition to planning monthly luncheons and happy hour events, the Programs Committee collaborates closely with the Sponsorship and Communications committees to develop the announcements for these events.
